    In depth

    Verdict

Colton was capable if nothing out of the ordinary on the level and may have a future in this game judged by his debut effort at Huntingdon but more solid claims are held by Pasco, who gets the vote with Strong Survivor rated the pick of the remainder. The selection showed respectable form on the level in France and should come on a bundle for his promising hurdles debut for Paul Nicholls over course and distance at the beginning of the month, with the less testing conditions here expected to suit. Flashy Conquest has shown some ability in bumpers and over hurdles and represents the in-form yard of Colin Tizzard. Noel Chance's Little Bit of Hush won his only start in a bumper and could be of interest on his hurdling debut, while Mon Chevalier belied market odds when a creditable fifth on his Wetherby debut but may again find at least one too good. Tom George's Mountain Oscar disappointed at Uttoxeter last time and may do better dropped back in trip but a bigger threat is likely to come from Strong Survivor, who showed great promise on his hurdles debut at Leicester earlier this month. Several have claims but it is Pasco that gets the vote.
