Verdict

CYBORG is marginally preferred to Isabelonabicycle, Alnwick and Calculating. The last three named are closely matched on their running at Kempton which should have teed Alnwick up nicely as he bids to follow up last year's success in this race. Calculating is out of the weights but not badly handicapped although this may be a shade too competitive. Isabelonabicycle isn't entirely straightforward but may have more to offer at this trip. Cleaver isn't an easy ride either but he has the ability to go close whilst Swordsman comes into this on the back of a confidence boosting success. Cyborg's recent win should also have done wonders for his confidence as he steps back up in trip. He's often hinted that he has the ability to make up into a useful performer and has been rather frustrating thus far. It's also far from certain that this longer trip will bring out the best in him but his connections know what it takes to make a good stayer so we'll put our faith in them and select Cyborg.
