RECKLESS REWARD looks the pick of the Hannon brigade; Ballista, Dress Up and Shoshoni Wind look the pick of the remainder. Richard Hannon has won four of the last seven renewals and he has been fairly vocal in his desire for the selection to run in this race and it's easy to see why after his fine second to Approve in the Norfolk Stakes at Ascot. Ryan Moore keeps the ride and unless the heavens open (unproven on anything less than good-to-firm) he should run a mighty race. Nasharra is better than his run at Sandown last time might suggest, Arctic Feeling and Jamesway are closely linked if we go by their Southwell times earlier in the year, whilst Ballista ran with credit at Salisbury and the return to five won't hurt. Shoshoni Wind ran Khor Sheed to a length at Newmarket last time out and is a big player if she can cope with this quicker test, whilst Bold Bidder is progressing well at a lowly level and is nicely-weighted for this assignment today. Temple Meads was well-backed on debut and it looks significant that connections appear to have held him back for this, whilst Boundless Spirit needs to bounce back to form and along with Jaahiz (form not amazing) looks opposable. Remotelinx and Kojak may both be different propositions having won easily on their fourth starts, however this looks tailor-made for Reckless Reward to take top billing.
