Pillars of Wisdom, Chrysander and Stronghold are all shortlisted in this wide open maiden and the vote is given to Pillars of Wisdom. The selection has only raced twice but he improved for his debut effort when a good third behind Godolphin's Grosvenor Square at Newmarket back in September. He is stepped up in trip which should suit and this colt from the John Dunlop yard looks the one they all have to beat. Chrysander is a well-bred colt by Cadeaux Genereux and although the market will provide clues regarding his chance on his racecourse debut, he is from a yard in form and he has to be respected. Stronghold looks another likely type on breeding and he is another that hails from a yard in good form, so if the market vibes are positive then it could pay to take the hint. Shareb ran green but showed plenty of promise on his racecourse debut when finishing in mid-division at Newmarket last year and as he is sure to come on for the run he is another that has to be considered. However, for the winner we return to Pillars of Wisdom who sets a fair standard for the rest.
