In depth

Verdict

Blue Minx is the obvious choice in this juvenile claimer and is taken to complete a quick hat-trick at the main expense of Trick Pony and Looking North. The selection has already had four starts (winning her last two) and, while clearly no world-beater, this is clearly her grade and the daughter of Darnay is expected to be too good for her rivals again. Fitasabuckstoat and Best of Friends only showed a modicum of ability first time out and of more interest may be Bill Turner's One Trick Pony, who has a length to find with the selection on running at Yarmouth last time but is entitled to improve as that was only his second outing and the stable's youngsters have been slower to come to hand this year than usual. Mick Easterby's Looking North has shown ability in both starts so far and has to be respected. The four newcomers face no easy task against more experienced rivals with Kevin Ryan's sprint bred El Barco and Tim Easterby's lightly weighted Saddell probably the pick of them. Blue Minx has an obvious chance though and gets the vote to win again.
