Not disgraced when running on well into seventh from a bad draw in the Lincoln on his return, Mine looks to have been found an ideal opportunity to open his account for the season and is taken to do so at the main expense of Pentecost and Primus Inter Pares. The last mentioned was well beaten under testing conditions at Ripon on Thursday on his reappearance but still looks the pick of David Nicholls three runners in the race ahead of Serieux and Royal Dignitary. Imperialistic receives all the allowances going but would need to improve dramatically on the evidence of reappearance run at Kempton to win this and of more interest may be Julie Camacho's Higher State, who is less exposed than most of these and could be of interest on his British debut. Andrew Balding's Pentecost holds solid claims on his best form but is not particularly consistent and would probably want a faster surface. There are no problems on that score with Mine though as James Bethell's seven-year-old goes on any surface. The son of Primo Dominie is a consistent horse and a reproduction of his Lincoln effort should suffice.
