In depth

Verdict

Walter Swinburn can strike an early note with Serbelloni, who has been in great form and gets the nod over Sharadi and Pass The Port, while Coustou is lightly weighted and can be a danger if he arrives in the same frame of mind he was in at Folkestone 11 days ago. He appeals as an each way hope. Pass The Port also has place claims after going close at Kempton a fortnight ago. Jonny Murtagh catches the eye as a jockey booking and another bold bid is expected. Sharadi finished off last season well and obviously improved when he was stepped up in trip. He does have a little more to find in this company but cannot confidently be ruled out. However, Serbelloni is open to far more improvement and as the trip should not be any problem for him, he can grant Swinburn a first winner at a track that suited him well as a rider.
