Eleven of the scheduled twelve runners have won over this distance, including our selection Cheveton, who's picked to land a four-timer ahead of Bahamian Ballet and Playful. He's happy whatever the ground, and with Ryan Moore on board is likely to be well supported, but justifiably so, given his recent successes in similar handicaps at Haydock, Sandown and Ascot. He's giving weight away to most, including Hereford Boy who he's already beaten twice; Tony The Tap and Cape Royal are regular rivals, with the former usually coming out on top. Bahamian Ballet's been knocking on the door of late with a couple of seconds in these sort of races, while Playful maybe able to make the most of a good high draw to win after a couple of near misses. The drop back in trip should help. Andrew Balding's Lochstar is an interesting runner, a first outing in more than a year. After winning over 6 furlongs at Lingfield, he also tries the minimum trip. It looks a tricky contest to call, but we'll go with Cheveton.
