Not an easy contest to fathom but we'll take Gamma Velorum to see off Moon Phase and Mr Twins. The selection is dropped to this level after struggling a little in Novice company and up against the usual batch of moderate performers, we'll side with a horse with fewest negatives. Moon Phase has to be respected as a Mick Easterby runner at lowly levels. He had shaped well in bumpers but is yet to trouble the judge over hurdles. Mr Twins ran respectably here in April. He makes his first appearance for new connections here. Dennick looks to have lost his way badly. Liberty Seeker isn't the same horse that once campaigned in Graded events but the application of a certain AP McCoy in the saddle is a major plus. Aleemdar is exposed as moderate although runs well in plating class. Sprinter, Kenmore is an interesting recruit to hurdling albeit at the basement grade New Wish has spurned earlier chances. A race there for the taking and Gamma Velorum is our pick in the opener.
