Verdict

Probably a fair Novice for the time of year and we are with Southern Regent although Bethany's Boy and Gunfighter won't make life particularly easy. Southern Regent won well here a couple of weeks ago before finishing third in a hot contest last time out behind the useful Little Lu. The handicapper rates him as a 122 horse so it would be no surprise to see the trainer opt for this rather than handicap company. Bethanys Boy probably surprised a few on hurdles debut at Towcester. Any rain might prove a problem. Gunfighter was useful on the level before learning how to refuse the whole idea of racing. If he takes to this game, he could be anything. Peak Seasons is a moderate performer at best. He did it well at Cartmel without beating anything out of the ordinary. Louisiade has ran creditably in claimers on the level and makes the switch to the "winter game". My Mirasol was rated in the sixties on the level. He stayed 1m to 1m2f so should stay this extended two miles. Crazy Bold was easy to back on British debut and ran accordingly. Falimar wasn't exactly bred to be a National Hunt prospect and having lost his way on the level, he could make some appeal if the market speaks in his favour. Captain Darling should at least be fit from the flat. A race strong in numbers but probably not in terms of likely winners and we are with Southern Regent.
