    Verdict

Soaked has plenty going for him here and will take plenty of beating with Wendy's Girl and American Cousin the principle dangers. The selection doesn't know how to run a bad race and he ran really well when second behind Playful Dane at Thirsk last time. He is well drawn here and with conditions to suit he looks the one to beat. Wendy's Girl rates the main danger as she is also in good heart, but she has never won over this trip and as she is better over 5 furlongs she is passed over on this occasion. American Cousin is a course and distance winner but he has it all on to reverse the placings with our selection from their recent run at Thirsk, especially from this poor draw. It will be a surprise if any of the others are good enough to make the frame here, and we are happy to stick with Soaked as our confident choice.
