In depth

Verdict

Amanda Perrett's pair Ten Carat and Bobsleigh are both capable of taking a hand in the finish here, but Mark Johnston goes one better and runs three, with Riyadh the one that gets our vote. The selection hasn't visited the winners enclosure for some time but looked to be coming back to his best when chasing home today's rival, and stable-mate, Mana d'Argent at Ascot last time. The trip will hold no fears for this son of Caerleon and with just 7st 12lb in the plate he is certainly weighted to go close.Ten Carat was an unlucky loser at Newmarket earlier this month. He got into all sorts of trouble in that two mile event, and under the circumstances did well to stay on into third behind Valance. Stable-mate Bobsleigh is steadily dropping down the weights and looks set to run a decent race. So a very tricky start to proceedings but Riyadh can continue his improvement and land this valuable prize.
