The step back up in trip will suit HYDRANT who is preferred to Grand Diamond and Park's Prodigy. A mark of 69 looks feasible for the selection who comes here on the back of a fair third at Carlisle. His win at Southwell came over 11 furlongs so the step back up in trip will suit and a bold bid is expected. Royal Straight was in good form before a recent Carlisle run however the longer trip should help today although it must be said he looks a tad high in the weights, so a bigger threat could be Safebreaker whose Lady Eclair form reads well and he is slowly edging down to a tidy handicap mark. The consistent Grand Diamond continues to give his running and his recent Ayr form has been franked by the winner, whilst Park's Prodigy is also rated a player on his Catterick third to Hel's Angel but the subsequent effort at Ripon wasn't quite so hot. The vote goes to Hydrant.
