Paul Midgley's Highland Warrior heads the weights for this handicap over the minimum trip and has every chance of defying the burden of 9st 9lb racing off just a 1lb higher mark than when narrowly beaten by The Bear over course and distance last month but he is still 5lb higher than when scoring here in April so may be booked for a place at best. Alan Berry's Wicked Wilma has been running consistently well of late but seems to be in the grip of the handicapper. Linda Perratt's Mandarin Spirit has been running similarly well of late, strictly holds Sandwith on running at Hamilton behind Verinco last week, and he has to be respected racing off the same mark today, although he may again find at least one too good. Francis Albert is held by SECRET VENUE on running behind Bertie Southstreet at Nottingham last week and, while he is himself held by Wicked Wilma on a line through Mey Blossom, Jedd O'Keefe's gelding seemingly reserves his best form for Musselburgh so he is taken to gain his fourth course and distance success.
