There would be no more deserving winner of this than Siren's Gift who finished third in the Portland on his penultimate start and finished runner-up last time in a Listed event last time. Although she has yet to win this season, blinkers have certainly brought her level of form up a notch and despite her stall 15 draw, she arguably has the best form coming into this. Cheveton's winning sequence meanwhile came to an end last time in the Portland. The drop back to five furlongs as opposed to the extended five furlongs will undoubtedly suit. Captain Dunne showed lots of promise early in the season and it was good to see him fulfil it on the fibresand last time although the handicapper has taken a dim view of the ease of that victory. The return to a stiff five furlongs will suit Fullandby who found things happening all too quickly for him at Kempton. Tombi and the Portland winner Hogmaneigh, who might just be feeling the effects of a tough season judging on his Tipperary effort last Sunday are others of interest in the race but SIREN'S GIFT is given the vote.
