Verdict
AMOUR PROPRE is preferred to Magic Cat and Aldermoor. This Group 3 has attracted a good turnout and the winner is likely to need plenty of luck with the draw as well as during the race. The selection has a rail to race against which may prove to be an advantage as Henry Candy's colt has speed to burn and he should be able to hold a decent position. He has broken course records at Warwick and Bath this season and is an exciting prospect. Magic Cat has already won a Listed race and shouldn't be knocked for the fact that it came in bottomless ground at Ayr. That performance just proved his versatility as he had already run well on fast ground and the Ayr runner-up gave the form a boost when winning the Redcar Two Year-Old Trophy. Of the many others in the line-up with claims we'll suggest Aldermoor as our third pick. Stuart Williams' colt landed a handsome touch at Catterick on his racecourse bow before taking a nursery at Chester on his latest start. He does need to take a step forward to be competitive here but has given the impression that he's capable of doing so.
