The admirably consistent MATTEROFACT is taken to land this opening sprint handicap, with Bishopbriggs and Edie Superstar others to consider. Matterofact does not know how to run a bad race and has not been out of the first three on her last eight starts. All ground comes alike to her on turf and there is no reason why, now that she is in such good form, she can't produce better on the Polytrack after five previous winless attempts on the surface. This is her optimum trip and she is at the very least on a competitive mark here so we'll side with her. Bishopbriggs represents the yard of Stuart Parr, who at the time of writing had sent out four successive winners. The yard therefore could hardly be in better form and this gelding acts well over both this and 6f and is also on a competitive mark. We expect a big performance. Edie Superstar is a filly open to a fair bit of improvement and she is already a Polytrack winner at Lingfield. She has a decent pitch in stall four and is another who won't be far away from a mark of 65. Grand Palace is just 2lb higher than his most recent win and handles both this surface and the Fibresand well. The yard continues to go pretty well so he is not ruled out. Kinout is very interesting now dropping to a mark of 65, having won off 73 over course and distance back in March. His draw is not the best, but first-time blinkers might help galvanise him and he is very much respected.
