In spite of the weights here compared to if this were a handicap, the percentage call looks to be BLACKTOFT to get the better of Elliwan, Saviour Sand and Permanent Way. The Stuart Williams-trained selection is in very good form having won a similar contest over a mile at Kempton and then doing all his best work at the end when beaten just over two lengths last time at Lingfield. Clearly this surface suits and he is taken to get his nose in front again. Elliwan is an interesting contender sent south by Mick Easterby. He is open to improvement after just four runs thus far, though he has to bounce back from a dismal effort on bottomless ground at Ayr last time and this is his first try on an artificial surface. Permanent Way is officially rated best of these and as he is most favoured by the weights he deserves a second look. However, his recent form has been poor and it would be a bit of a surprise if he suddenly ran to his rating and won over a trip which is arguably a bit short for him. Saviour Sand took a Yarmouth claimer last time and acts well around here, so he can certainly get involved at the business end while both Peruvian Prince and Hilbre Court will win more races in the future.
