The day's feature event can go to The Tatling ahead of Bond City, Tournedos and River Falcon in a wide-open renewal. There are plenty of exposed speedsters in opposition here, including Milton Bradley's 10-year-old The Tatling, who showed that there was life in the old dog yet when scoring over the course-and-distance last month, with River Falcon right behind. The latter had finished a place ahead of him the time before at Newbury, so it is fair to say that the selection has really come to himself now, and although River Falcon is 2lb better off for a head, he would prefer more juice in the ground , and has a poor draw to boot, with The Tatling in contrast housed perfectly in 13. Tournedos was a Group winner a few years ago, and has yet to show his form since joining Dandy Nicholls, but he is on a decent mark, unlike last year's winner and stablemate Handsome Cross who has it to do. Bond City will have his supporters after enduring an unlucky passage behind Hogmaneigh in the Dash at Epsom last week. Down the field in this last year when trained by Bryan Smart, he too has a good draw and can enjoy the services of apprentice Neil Brown who can claim 7lb here. All in all, it promises to be a thrilling finish in which The Tatling is taken to last home.
