Verdict
Chateau did not beat much when landing a similar contest at Redcar last time but this is no better so Alan Swinbank's gelding has to be respected but he may struggle under his penalty and preference is for Ulysees, who gets the vote ahead of Mystified. The last mentioned receives weight all round but has given little sign of encouragement since winning a handicap at Wolverhampton in February and is probably best watched today. Desert Lightning represents the in-form yard of Karl Burke and it would come as no surprise if he was to put recent disappointing efforts behind him. Cordage is another worthy of a mention but the vote goes to Ulysees who has an obvious chance at the weights and should be too good for his rivals.
