It's difficult to know what to make of the Spain-based Ariete Arrollador but he's obviously useful as he raced three times on Deauville's Fibresand and won the lot, including a Listed race last month when the very useful Nova Step was just behind. Swop has won at Nad Al Sheba but never here though he's run some fine races in defeat and looks well enough treated to give a good account. Captain Ramius has three all-weather victories to his credit and looked better than ever on Turf last summer culminating in a fine success at Newmarket. The Sweden-based Tertio Bloom has performed with credit all around Europe and is one to keep an eye on while Barbecue Eddie was in superb form here last year and will have benefited greatly from last month's comeback. Red Gulch has never raced in Dubai but landed a Listed contest at Longchamp in October and is well treated but Mike De Kock got his Carnival off to a flying start with Mahbooba last week and REEM, who beat her on her debut here last year, looks another for the South African.
