Seaniethesmuggler put some disappointing efforts behind him when landing a beginners' chase over course and distance last month and is taken to follow up at the main expense of Starbuck and Make It Easy. The last mentioned has to race from 3lbs out of the handicap but such is the weakness of the opposition that the nine-year-old has to be respected, especially if able to reproduce the form shown when winning at Fakenham last month. Starbuck, like the last mentioned, has winning form in point-to-points and looks reasonably well treated back over regulation fences judged by his reappearance second behind Inglewood at Hexham. Very few of the others warrant much of a mention in a poor race, with another ex-pointer John Rich and Jonjo O'Neill's Presentingthecase, for who Tony McCoy cannot do the weight, probably the pick of them. The vote though goes to Seaniethesmuggler, who recorded his second course success when winning that beginners' chase last month and, with the handicapper leaving him alone on a mark of 95, the Steve Gollings-trained gelding looks the one to be on.
