There should not be a lot to choose between Mi Odds and Bid For Fame on their running over course and distance in similar company last week but both may have to settle for a minor role behind Maniatis, who is taken to follow up last week's Lingfield success. The selection had previously lost all chance behind Bid For Fame here over 1m6f when running wide into the straight, having looked the most likely winner turning for home but Nick Littmoden's gelding put that behind him with his success at Lingfield last time and he is taken to follow up. Bid For Fame was, not surprisingly doing his best work late on last time when close up in third behind Mi Odds in El Chapparal's race and has to be respected but is undoubtedly better over further. Mi Odds has been a gallant servant to connections over the years but his best days are probably past him now and of more interest may be Moon Shot, who reverts to the flat fit from a spell hurdling. Gary Moore's Dandygrey Russett has claims at the weights and is another to consider along with Chris Dwyer's Rasid but Maniatis has an obvious chance and, provided that he is on his best behaviour, Nick Littmoden's gelding should be too good for his rivals.
