The vote here goes to Roman History ahead of Cold Cure, Glendening, Dusty Devil and, possibly, Aysgarth Flyer. Much as it's disappointing to see him dropping into selling company, the selection has shown enough outside of this level, most notably when sixth to In Full Cry at Ripon last time (and the fifth has won since) to suggest that he should be a major player today. Blinkered for the first time, the Brian Meehan-trained Any Offer will need to show marked improvement from his debut run to score, while money for Aysgarth Flyer could be interesting as, despite being cheaply acquired, he has something to like on breeding. Cold Cure has shown some promise in non-selling company and warrants a mention, particularly at this longer trip, while this is Dusty Devil's level, and the best bits of his form give him a chance. From the Clive Brittain stable, Glendening has to be afforded some thought, but we are happy to side with Roman History.
