Adobe, Spy Gun, Gem Bien, Extra Cover, Baker Of Oz, Roar Blizzard, Donegal Shore and Yorker form a long shortlist in a tricky race, with the vote going to Donegal Shore. The case for the selection goes that he rates as competitive in this sphere, has a good rider booked and he can build upon an eyecatching Nottingham run last time. Adobe comes into this race on the back of a good Bath run two days ago and, being fairly weighted on his best Wolves form, has to be afforded plenty of respect. A repeat of his course form of last spring and his best all-weather form of late gives Spy Gun something of a chance, while Gem Bien remains competitively weighted in our view and is one to consider. Forty Forte won a seller here but has not looked so good in handicaps, while Sion Hill remains a maiden. Extra Cover's best form of the autumn brings him well into the mix and this is more his trip than the ones he has been trying recently. It's fair to say that Joey Perhaps has looked better on Turf thus far, although his form in that sphere gives him chances although he has yet to race on this surface. German import Roar Blizzard was an eyecatcher last time and any market support should be noted, while Baker Of Oz in first-time blinkers also looks interesting. Finally, course and distance winner Yorker also remains on a competitive mark and, running for owners called Men Behaving Badly, the post-race celebrations could be interesting. Overall, though, we will just side with Donegal Shore.
