In depth

Verdict

Cracboumwiz gets the vote over Delightful Cliche, with Industrial Star and Cloudless Dawn others to consider. The market should be noted in the finale as regards the newcomers, but on the evidence so far, Cracboumwiz should be up to defying a penalty. Heather Dalton's charge looked the paddock pick when opening his account at Huntingdon, and was not disgraced, despite being outclassed in the Aintree Champion Bumper. The drop back in grade is a big plus factor, and he can get back to winning ways. Delightful Cliche found only the hot favourite Young Dude too good for him at Worcester and so he should improve enough to take a hand in the finish without being good enough. Industrial Star kept on well when fourth on his Haydock introduction, while Cloudless dawn has more experience than most. Sue Smith's two runners should be noted as well as they can both improve, but Cracboumwiz has the form in the book and should return to winning ways.
