A high draw can help Rancho Cucamonga extend her run of good form. Tagula Bay, Karashino and Monash Lad can give the selection the most to think about. Monash Lad shaped with promise on several occasions last season and proved to be very consistent in maidens and nursery handicaps. However, he was far from convincing the last time he was seen out and has something to prove from top weight. The handicapper was forced into giving Karashino a mark of 66 after her winning start at Thirsk eight days ago and it remains to be seen if that form works out. However, she is not over faced for her handicap debut and should go well again even though she lacks experience. Tagula Bay drops to a more appropriate trip after failing to stay up the hill at Beverley on her reappearance. She hails from a yard that does very well at this course and a strong market move will be dangerous to ignore. However, Rancho Cucamonga makes far more appeal on the overall balance of form and she is expected to be very hard to pass if, as is expected, she can nab the far side rail.
