    Verdict

SACRILEGE is by far and away the best horse in this novice hurdle and will take all the beating while Vogarth and Pelennor will both pose as dangers and deserve respect. The selection won a handicap on the flat for David Elsworth last summer and had shaped with promise over hurdles for John Quinn over the winter. He has now moved to Tim Vaughans stable in South Wales who have been enjoying a fruitful summer. His form looks rock solid and with further improvement to come he ought to be good enough to win. Vogarth won twice on the level for Rod Millman and ran well on his latest run at the same venue when second to West End Girl back in January. This is his debut run over hurdles for local trainer Michael Chapman and will have been well prepared so any market moves should be noted. Pelennor has his first run for Nigel Hawke having run twice for Tim Vaughan. His form looks only moderate but a change of scenery may well bring about a bit of improvement. Sacrilege is the best horse in the race and with a clear round of jumping looks a penalty kick.
