Verdict
Number One Guy stepped up from his debut outing when a decent close fifth behind Dreamspeed at Sandown last month and he has to be respected for Mark Tompkins but a draw in stall 10 makes this difficult and a better bet looks to be REALISATION, who is preferred to Prompter. Michael Bell's colt made a promising debut when only beaten a head by Black Spirit in a novice stakes race at Ascot last month, running on well having been held up early on in the race. The son of Motivator should not be inconvenienced by the softer ground today and has solid claims provided that he does not loose too much ground early on in the race and having to race on the outside. Tim Easterby has his string in good heart and his runner, Jimmy The Preacher, should strip fitter for his debut at York but needs to. Reg Hollinshead's Tominator and Amy Weaver's Black Sapphire have both shown some promise on their only starts so far but not as much as the selection, Realisation. Mark Johnston's colt ran well on his debut at Haydock last month on a softish surface when staying on well to be beaten a length by Gunner Lindley. The stable's juveniles normally improve from their first start to their second and if Realisation does that then he will be hard to beat from a draw in stall two.
