Captain Jacksparra won well enough on the Polytrack at Lingfield last time but that was only in a claimer and this is a lot tougher for Kevin Ryan's gelding in a race taken to go to DIXEY, who is preferred to Fathsta. David Nicholls has his runner in good form having been placed in his last two starts and he again should be thereabouts at a track when he has run well on his last two visits but the four-year-old has been done few favours with a draw in stall 11 so he may again have to settle for a place at best. John Quinn's Mastership is in similarly good form but also has a poor draw to overcome being boxed on the wide outside in stall 12 of the 12 runners. Stevie Thunder has not progressed from a promising reappearance run and looks best watched at present, while Invincible Force may struggle to defy the penalty incurred for his win at The Curragh last time. The vote then goes to Dixey, who is better on turf than the Polytrack on which he has had three of his last four starts and with Michael Jarvis having his team in much better form now, he looks worth chancing off what seems a favourable mark.
