Strike The Deal is best in at the weights judged by official BHA ratings but a combination of ground being softer than ideal and a difficult looking draw in stall nine of the 11 runners makes Jeremy Noseda's colt one probably best watched and preference is for the three-year-old DONCASTER ROVER, who gets the vote over Hoh Hoh Hoh. The last mentioned is not the most consistent of performers but he is more than capable of taking the honours in this contest and ran well here last month when a close third behind Borderlescott, a reproduction of which form would see him go close. Alan Berry's Irish import City Dancer ran his best race for new connections when chasing home Sugar Free at Ayr last month but he needs to improve on that to trouble the selection and of more interest may be Icelandic. Frank Sheridan's gelding ran up to his best when chasing home Nota Bene in a conditions race over the minimum trip at Newmarket last time, will not be inconvenienced by the return to six furlongs and he has to be strongly considered. Hugh Morrison's Sohraab is closely matched with Hoh Hoh Hoh on running behind Borderlescott and has claims but he is less likely to appreciate the extra furlong today. The vote then goes to David Brown's Doncaster Rover, who has shown improved form of late, will relish the underfoot conditions, is well drawn in stall one and he can resume winning ways.
