Reluctantly we have compiled a short-list for this contest which comprises the selection, Old Romney, along with Artistic Light and Terminate. Old Romney was a decent handicapper in his prime but has shown very little until his last couple of starts which have promised a little more. Michael Wigham has found winners hard to come by this summer but he's had a couple hit the frame of late and the application of blinkers plus the drop in grade may enable this son of Halling to land this prize. Danish Monarch is competitive in this grade but Coup D'Etat isn't easy to win with and this trip stretches The Gaikwar. Artistic Light still has to conclusively prove that she sees out this trip but her chances of doing so are better in this company. Terminate has won over a mile and a half so will want this to be a proper test which it should be with the front running Danish Monarch in the line-up. He drops in grade and should be in the firing line but OLD ROMNEY may just have his measure. (Ian Ogg)
