LIBERALLY rates the one to beat following her win at Bath, Houri looks sure to be involved but we're going to put Politeia forwards. Richard Hannon's filly hasn't really gone on from a promising reappearance but that was the only time that she has been partnered by Richard Hughes and we're hoping that his return to the saddle, coupled with the fitting of a visor, can bring about a return to form. She has been making late headway in recent contests without ever threatening the principals but it does suggest that all may not yet be lost. Houri has posted some consistent efforts but the handicapper has seen fit to raise her by another 2lbs which makes her chance of gaining a second career success all that harder. She's vulnerable to progressive rivals and Liberally fits that bill having hacked up last time. The ground is likely to be quicker here and she has an extra quarter of a mile to travel but is related to a mile and a half winner as well as Guineas heroine Speciosa. Ballora, Drum Major, Desert Thistle and Flam are all others that flitted across our radar but Politeia is the one selected to hit the target. (Ian Ogg)
