Haldibari will be hard to pass if allowed to dictate but in CORR POINT he meets a rival capable of doing just that; Command Marshal, Tower and Brad's Luck complete the shortlist. Our pick scored in workmanlike fashion at Warwick having taken second behind a well-treated subsequent winner on the Polytrack here prior to that and our belief is he can defy an 8lb rise. When scoring last time he jumped a path turning for home which cost him momentum, so this progressive gelding did well to score and can do so again. Haldibari enjoys bowling along so did well when unable to do so at Musselburgh, in the process taking second to the in-form Tillietudlem. The handicapper could've taken a dimmer view of that and he's well-weighted on hurdles form. Command Marshal is 2lbs lower than when third in a better race at Chester which in theory makes him just about the one to beat but his profile isn't one of consistency and his sole flat win came in 2006. Brad's Luck is consistent but remains a maiden after 22 starts and the return of blinkers isn't sure to suit judging by his record in them previously while Tower is just a pound higher than when staying on for second at Yarmouth, in the process suggesting he'd get this far. Corr Point looks the horse most open to progress here and should take all the beating.
