Not a bad contest to get the card underway with the likes of Man Crazy, Bee Minor and newcomer Catherine Howard all worthy of respect, but they will have to be above average to see off Miss Procurer, who shaped with plenty of promise is a strong maiden at York on her debut. Paul Cole's filly is out of a mare that stayed a mile, and while she will stay further than this in time, she can put the experience gained at York, to good use in this. Richard Hannon had three entered in this at the five-days, but relies on Bee Minor, who didn't shape with that much promise on her debut at Newbury, albeit in the face of a stiff task. She will know more this time and must go well, along with Man Crazy, who is a half-sister to prolific winner Football Crazy. She will be suited by this extra furlong, but could have been better drawn. Mick Channon has his two-year-olds in fine form and Catherine Howard is sure to have her supporter's. Her dam, the winner of a coupler of small events, turned in her best effort in defeat when runner-up to Applaud in the 1995 Cherry Hinton, and if she has any of her mothers ability, must go well.
