Verdict

A fast and furious contest in prospect here, despite the prevailing conditions underfoot likely to play a huge part in sorting the wheat from the chaff. However, Brave Burt is taken to revel in the conditions and can build on a very promising effort from a poor draw at Epsom last month. David Nichols' charge has been handed a favourable position in the stalls this time, and has his ideal conditions to employ his turn of foot. He can use this as an early season confidence booster before being aimed at Newmarket in July. Indian Spark is another who should not be inconvenienced by the going but has indicated that he is better over an extra furlong of late, so the consistent Bali Royal is taken to be the main danger after a couple of pipe openers over the last month. She appears to act on any going and has shaped as if about to strike again for her in-form trainer. A move for Artie will also be interesting.
