An interesting opener where the short list comprises of Perfect Paula, Zippi Jazzman and Jennifers Joy and we take Perfect Paula to score. Brian Meehan's filly was good enough to run third in Listed company last time and has shown that she possesses plenty of speed in the context of this race. She does not meet opposition that is as strong as her most recent outing and a repeat effort would be good enough. Zippi Jazzman has has three outings at Wolverhampton and broke his maiden tag there last time over this trip. Ralph Beckett has him in good form so he can't be discounted in first time blinkers. Jennifers Joy tries the polytrack for the first time and was a turf winner on faster ground so may be able to handle this ok. However, the filly looks to have been a little harshly assessed by the handicapper. Lord Deevert is another with chances here as a c&d scorer, though he will have to go some to beat Perfect Paula, who gets the nod.
