Verdict
Some interesting types on show, with Taken just edging the verdict over Beauchamp Wizard and Pentathlon. Others to note for future reference include Sacrilege and General Blucher, who are nicely bred types that hail from yards more than capable of getting one ready at the first time of asking. Pentathlon is closely related to the smart No Excuses Needed and Skywards, so can be fancied to make an impact before too long. Mark Johnston is never one to rush with animals of this type, but he must be looking forward to seeing this son of Storming Home make his belated debut. Beauchamp Wizard made an eye-catching introduction at Doncaster last month and represents an owner that has enjoyed plenty of success with Gerard Butler. This fellow also looks sure to pay his way in time, but a market move would be very dangerous to ignore today. However, Taken also represents very canny connections and, with the benefit of a couple of runs under his belt, this half-brother to Top Romance is selected as the best value option.
