The drop into claiming company is expected to be a confidence boosting move for Ryan's Future, who is selected in preference to Polygonal, Sawwaah and New World Order. The last named represents a yard that have a great record in races of this nature, so a market move would be interesting to note. Karl Burke's three-year-old has a fair record of making the frame and can go close again; if he is in the right frame of mind! Sawwaah needs no introduction and, considering his recent profile, he seems a reformed character. Still, this does looks much tougher than the race his finished second in 12 days ago, so he may be vulnerable on these terms. Polygonal has a live chance on the official BHA ratings and has to be shortlisted. However, he ran poorly on his reappearance at Wolverhampton at the start of December, so comes here with a little bit to prove. Therefore, we prefer to side with Ryan's Future on this occasion. Stan Moore's charge has also endured training problems and has only had three starts in the last 18 months. However, as a previous course and distance winner that goes well when fresh, Ryan's Future has plenty going for him at this level. And therefore looks worth chancing in this modest contest.
