Verdict

Despite the small field this is a tricky contest to assess, and The Great Husk is taken to get revenge on Glen Lass, with Captain Cool best of the rest. After a couple of good runs to finish second, Captain Cool was disappointing when made joint favourite recently. He is taken on until returning to form. Glen Lass ran up a four timer in claimers recently, but has been found out when running in handicaps. She can go well, but re-opposes The Great Husk on a stone worse terms than when they met last month when divided by only a length and a half. The Great Husk may be given a soft lead in front, and though he is still a maiden in 11 starts, his recent efforts in similar contests suggest he is capable of getting his head in front. The Great Husk can lose his maiden tag.
