This is an open contest where a number hold decent claims, and a tentative vote is given to Lopinot to hold off Forward Feline and the perpetual loser, Charlie Smirke. Forward Feline dead heated for a little race at Wolverhampton in December and has done quite well since, doing her best work at the finish on her latest start, and she looks sure to be thereabouts. Charlie Smirke has yet to win and has finished second in six of his eleven all-weather starts, an alarming statistic. He threatens to win races, but somehow never manages to do so. His latest defeat saw him raised 4lbs and he may well find one too good again. Six time winner Lopinot is on a winless run which now stretches to thirteen, but he showed distinct signs of a return to form recently when a good second over this course and distance. He seems to be running into a little bit of form, and Lopinot can score.
