In a very weak affair, Hampton Court is taken to get the better of Poppy Gregg and Nyetimber. The last named has shown only modest form at best to date, but benefitted from a drop into selling class last time where he was able to hit the frame for the first time. Breeding would suggest the significant step up in trip is optimistic, and it is a venture into the unknown and he is best watched. Poppy Gregg is thoroughly exposed but he at least managed a runner-up spot in a selling handicap over this course and distance recently. Although that was a poor affair, he can hit the frame once more. Hampton Court had been campaigned over hurdles and shaped with some promise, before being placed when an unconsidered outsider over this course and distance in a non-seller. That was his first Flat outing for some time, and a reproduction of that run can see him home here.
