This looks another modest contest, and with French Hollow and Sure Fire looking only ordinary, a chance is taken that Two O'Clock John can improve on his promising debut and spring a surprise. Sure Fire was keeping on over eleven furlongs last time, and this extra quarter of a mile looks sure to suit. He may be open to improvement as he is only lightly raced. French Hollow is slightly more experienced, and although he is very consistent, he does not seem to be improving. He may well find one to beat him again. Two O'Clock John was an unconsidered outsider when making his debut over a furlong shorter here, but he stayed on to good effect, doing his best work at the finish. He should have learnt a lot from that and Two O'Clock John may be the answer to an open maiden.
