In depth

Verdict

A few old friends in opposition and WOOLSTON FERRY can confirm recent form with Spinight and Cognac Boy. Mick Channon's charge is not particularly well handicapped at present so plating contests of this nature are up for the taking. Six furlongs appear not to have suited in the past and over what is likely to be a strong run seven, he can go in again. Spinight has plenty of early pace and will always be vulnerable to a finisher around this circuit. Cognac Boy had bits and pieces of form when trained by Richard Hannon. Cheekpieces replace blinkers this afternoon. Desert Bump is the potential fly in the ointment to all. She seems a little one paced though is nevertheless respected on the basis of a success in a Wolverhampton maiden. Rapanui Belle drops into the grade for the first time though is up against it at these weights. Abu Dubai will be interesting once the handicapper allocates a mark. Elusive Ronnie is out of form. Woolston Ferry secures the nod.
