Verdict

SILVO can get the better of Iris's Flyer and Beech Games in this selling handicap hurdle to open the card. The selection has not been seen out since New Year's Day when he fell at this venue over the chase fences. He is a real course specialist and he has his optimum ground conditions and now that he reverts back to the timber he can regain the winning thread. Iris's Flyer looks the main danger as he ran really well when chasing home Alloro at Catterick. However he has yet to get his head in front in 15 runs and he is one to treat with caution. Beech Games ran his race at Catterick last time and he might be good enough to claim some place money, but he is hard to back with confidence and he has yet to taste success in 31 outings. Bawnafaugh is eased in grade and he may have found the ground too testing last time at Market Rasen. He has relatively few miles on the clock and he could go well at a price. However, Silvo is a smart hurdler at this level and he should prove tough to beat.
