Financial Times deserves to win this contest after a string of decent placed efforts but Stef Liddiard's gelding seems a shade high in the weights at present and may have to settle for minor honours again so preference is for Expensive Art, who gets the vote ahead of Silver Prelude. The last mentioned has disappointed in his last two starts on turf but recent all-weather form is solid Dean Ivory's gelding has to be respected. Willie Muir's Tony The Tap ran better last time but needs to improve again to trouble the judge, while Halsion Chancer is less exposed than most but has been punished by the handicapper for the winning start to his career. The vote then goes to Expensive Art. Neville Callaghan's filly was good value for her success at Catterick last time, handles the Polytrack well and she is taken to follow up here.
