Nonrunner
An open heat with plenty of exposed runners including WEST LEAKE, who may come good again with the slight slowing of the ground, while Tiger Trail, Plumage and Sirjosh all come here in form and can have their say. The last-named won over this trip at Yarmouth from a mark of 47 last month and is 6lbs higher today. He went well when runner-up from this mark last time but he seems to go best on fast ground and so we will take him on. Plumage ruffled a few feathers with her Chepstow win last time and acts on good ground or faster. A 3lb rise for that success plus top weight to shoulder clearly makes this tougher but it will be a surprise if she is not involved. Tiger Trail has been runner-up on his last two starts, both over 5f. This return to a furlong further is not certain to suit and so we will take him on with West Leake. Although fully exposed, he goes well over this trip and on good ground, while he has also shown form on the slowest of the artificial surfaces, the Fibresand, suggesting that the slight ease in conditions will suit him more than most. He has won off just 1lb lower than today's mark at Southwell and so we will chance him.
