      Verdict

Alhaitham is given another chance to lose his maiden tag, with Mobsir, Midnight Traveller and Quintrell others to consider. Alhaitham looked a progressive sort as a two-year-old on all three starts at Newmarket, and was sent off as favourite to open his account on his return, again at headquarters a month ago. Unfortunately he and the rest were caught in the slipstream of the potentially Group class Aeroplane, the selection finishing third in the end. He still has some decent entries, and although perhaps not quite as good as connections' first thought, he should almost be good enough here. John Dunlop's son Ed saddles Mobsir who chased home the useful Spinning Queen on his sole outing at Haydock last June. He should pick up a race in due course but will surely need this, while Midnight Traveller also returns to the fray, but the Cumani stable is a lot more forward then usual so it would be no surprise to see him run a big race. Quintrell is quite well-bred but was cheaply bought and is best watched on her debut, with Alhaitham very much the one to beat.
