Verdict

An interesting pointer to the Derby with four runners holding an engagement in the premier colts' Classic including Wahchi. Ed Dunlop's highly regarded colt made a pleasing return when runner-up in the Fielden Stakes last month having attempted to make all. The well-bred son of Nashwan will be suited by the step up in trip and will be hard to peg back with a fitness edge over his main rivals. Mark Johnston has a good batch of three-year-olds and Bandari, who won three of his four starts as a juvenile including a nine-lengths Listed victory, is another who is set to shine over middle distances. First Charter confirmed previous promise when a ready winner of a Ripon maiden last time but has it all to prove at this level while Mamool was generally progressive last season and is another possible in an open event.
