Verdict

Ladies Dancing is thrown straight into handicap company after winning on debut over course and distance last month, and he's been well treated, but we prefer the claims of the other course and distance winner LORD CHANCELLOR while respecting the chances too of Fong's Alibi. Mark Johnston's runner, with Greg Fairley having his only scheduled ride of the day, is a confirmed front runner who found little when pressed last time after previously winning. We're prepared to give him another chance though, given the trainer and jockey's reputation herem, but it may prove that his previous victory was in as weak a race as some thought. He was giving away plenty of weight last time out though, unlike today. Not too many win first time out in handicap company, which would be a concern about Ladies Dancing, who's also got a couple of entries for Wolverhampton tomorrow. Fong's Alibi looks the better of Stan Moore's two runners; a winner here last time out this is a step up in trip, after beating a supposedly better stable-mate. Sgt Roberts is his other runner, and makes his handicap debut. It's a decent little finale, in which we'll side with Lord Chancellor.
